Hey Nashville Star fans!
How excited are you guys about season 6 of Nashville Star?! I'm sure you all caught the amazing first episode last week and saw all of the amazing talent that will be on the show this season. After watching every one of the past five seasons, I'm telling you, I think this is going to be the best season yet!
First off, let me start by introducing myself. I'm just an ordinary girl living in this fabulous town we call Nashville, TN and have been given the amazing opportunity to come out to the Nashville Star set each week and well, hang out. After hearing what a huge fan I am of the show, the *big shots* at Nashville Star thought that I would be the perfect person to keep you guys up-to-date with everything going on each week including behind-the-scenes gossip, exclusive pictures, videos and any other little tidbits that I get to see each week from behind the big stage.
It's the second week of taping and my very first visit to the set this season. I showed up and met up with the amazing Tanya, who set me up with my very own media pass and sat me up in the infamous green room. You know, you hear about these "green rooms" and guess what - the carpet is actually GREEN! It's also super hot in here. Note to self: No long sleeves next week.
There is an abundance of wonderful smelling gourmet catering behind me but I'm just too excited to even grab a bite.
WOW! I was just sitting here on this giant comfy couch when the band Third Town surrounded me...literally...one on each side and one kneeling in front of my laptop. I was completely...dare I say, "StarStruck!" They were so incredibly sweet and took the time to introduce themselves and actually ask how I was. They let me in on the song they will be singing tonight and though I can't tell you, I'll tell you it's one of my favorites that my parents used to play when I was...let's just say a little younger. Just as we got our conversation started they were whisked away and I was left with my lonely laptop. I was sitting here uploading a video from Little Tony of Third Town* when someone began to scoot closer to me on the couch. I looked up and...guess who is was...the one and only Mr.Tommy Stanley! He only had a few seconds to say hello, but let me know that he was so pumped about the show tonight the his excitement was doing a good job of overrunning any nerves. Finally Gabe sat down to say hello and wanted to send a shout out to all of you guys out there!
All of the contestants are having a pow wow right now and getting ready to go on...
Guys, it's gonna be quite a night! I am so excited to see all of the performances and of course the fabulous Trace Adkins! I just love his new song, "You're Gonna Miss This," and he's going to be performing it tonight on the show! Remember to tune in tonight at 9/8 central only on NBC!
Also, check back during the show for behind-the-scenes photos and videos and check back tomorrow for my blog about the contestant performances!

Winner
I feel as though this year there should have been TWO winners, both Gabe & Melisa were equal in all ways. As for Jewels comment about the two bimbos well she hit on the head. I myself do not know how they made it as far as they did. Sometimes things happen that we can not understand and this was one of them. And please do us all a big favor do NOT put us in limbo and draw out the who the person who did not win and who did each night you are on. That 10 to 15 sec. is just a wast of good time for the winner.
New Nashville Star
I think it is great that Melissa won the title. She has a wonderful voice, and now all the doors in the world are open for her and her family. She will be able to give them all the things she has ever dreamed of. Her god given talent of a great voice will take her to the top of the world. Look what happened to Carrie Underwood. I have bought everyone of her records and I will buy yours. Keep up the good work, and have fun along the way. You will meet all kinds of wonderful people that will be right beside you. Melissa I wish you and your family the very best in your new adventure into the country western world. I hear it is fabulous at the top!! Looking forward to hearing your first album***
I DO NOT THINK MELLISA
I DO NOT THINK MELLISA SHOULD WIN!!! I ALSO THINK JEWELL SHOULD SAY SHE IS SORRY FOR THE DISGRACE SHE HAS BROUGHT TO THE SHOW!!!!!! SHE HIS NOT THAT GOOD OF A SINGER HERSELF!!!!! SHE THINKS SHE IS THE BOMB SHE HAD HER BOOBS DONE WHY DOESN'T SHE FIX HER TE
Jewel
Sorry I ment to say Laura and Sophie not Lauren and Sophie
Jewels comment to Lauren and Sophie
I have always liked Jewel but I am very upset about the comment she made to Lauren and Sophie about one of them having a seizure and saying just do it and get it over with. I have always enjoyed watching Nashville Star. I feel that Jewel had no right to say that. Myself I have seizure and when ppl make comments like that I take it to heart cause a lot of ppl do not understand what it is really like to deal with seizures. So she rolled her eyes at Jewel. It does not mean she had a seizure. I will keep watching Nashville Star but I think that someone should let Jewel know that she really needs to watch what she says on tv. And I hope she sees this.
nashville star
in my opinion Shawn and Melissa are the two best singers. I have to give the vocal edge to melissa but shawn is the better writer and sings almost as well.
coffey
I watched the show this week. WOW, is this guy Coffey for real? I mean, he is like that guy Sinjaya from American Idol a couple of seasons ago. I think it was real distasteful the way he used his emotional-weenie side to cover-up a really bad performance, again. This guy should have been gone weeks ago. I hope the voters agree with me and vote this guy off, PLEASSSE??

Nashville Star
I thought I would check in to see how the comments are coming along and I see there aren't very many this week. I think a lot of people have decided not to watch "Nashville Star" this year. It's really a shame, but from the comments made in the first and second show it doesn't surprise me that the audience is disappearing from in front of the Nashville channel. I am surprised I am still here writing myself. I personally can't stand Jewel as a judge and Nashville Star is suppose to be about finding the next country star and not the next pop america star. What's with the contestants? Hardly any of them sound like they are country singers....Geesh what happened to Nashville Star? It use to be so good!!
John Rich
Unfortunately I had to TIVO this weeks show, just got done watching it. Had a few tears in my eyes watching everyone getting reunited with their families and then getting so irrated with John Rich and his "holier than thou attitude". Yes he's sang in a couple of band/duos, written songs, produced a few "stars", been on a stupid show, but I don't know where he gets off putting down someones home, where they came from, etc. This is a talent show, stick to the "constructive critism" and stop belittling people. John is probably trying to be the bad as*, but he is coming across as being the biggest jerk on the show - I guess if you were Billy Ray, you like the attention being taken away from your lack of "hosting' skills. Stick to playing the side kick to your daughter - you're much better at it.
New Season
Having enjoyed past seasons, my wife and I tuned in eagerly to the new season, and could not believe how much this year's level of talent has dropped. As professional entertainers, we simply cannot believe this is the best Nashville could come up with. We will not be watching the balance of this season. This is NOT a true representation of Nashville's talent.

Hey John
If Coffey aint country what is Cowboy Troy?
New Host
PLEASE get a new host for next season and DO NOT let Billy Ray EVER host again. He sucks!
Family Night
This was the first time to see this show, kinda boring. I enjoyed watching the family's of the contestants and would have liked to have seen more of the Country BB-Q! Who catered this event??? Now they were the Nashville Star!

this year's contestants
WOW this year's contestants are a joke it's like a karaoke contest final at a small town choke and puke. With the exception of Melissa Lawson, who is pretty darn good, these contestants should not be on that stage.I have been told by many people when I sit in with local bands that I would have a very good chance of winning. I tried out once a few years ago but it was on a wim and I was nowhere near prepared.Don't get me wrong I love what their doing with the show, trying to make it bigger and better, but the artist's that were chosen this year are very shaky. I don't think they would even come close to a Buddy Jewel or a Chris Young or a Brad Cotter, not even close. It could be just me because I think I am like John Rich when I say YOU NEED TO BRING IT EVERY WEAK PEOPLE YOU NEED TO MAKE THE HAIR ON THE BACK OF THEIR NECK STAND UP MAN.
To John Rich
karenbates
You are the rudest man I have ever seen. You have no
sense of heart for you to talk to someone the way to
talked to Coffey tonite was uncalled for and I hope that this is the last year they pick you for a judge.
You should be judged by the american people and I am sure u would be the next on voted off.
And you can take Jewel with you. You both suck.
jewel sucks
i am sick and tired of watching jewel critique and mainly dis these people. this entire show is a joke. but she is unreal. she knows nothing and i mean NOTHING about country music. she cant sing it either. go back to LA jewel. hell, go back to alaska. she may be making records but i damn guarantee you it aint country. she aint country. she never will be.
shut up jewel. we're not buying into your "professional advice" look at your damn self and your pathetic vibrato- worse lyrics
ewww
billy ray cyrus wins the award for worst tv host of all time. he is HORRIBLE.
the state of the nashville music industry is in trouble. sales at an all time low. to make things worse, this show comes along and makes this town look silly. There are people walking down lower broad at his moment who sing circles around these contestants-. they are at best , good karaoke singers. these people are hideous. this is pure comedic relief. laughable
nashville deserves better.
To John Rich
A reminder to u that "Don't Stop Believing " by Journey isn't country either and the song was done a misjustice tonite. And by the way, singing "Save a horse and ride a cowboy" and wearing ur country hat doesn't make u 100% cowboy.Figured u expressed ur self rudely so why not me.And I've liked u till now. If u thought that about Coffey, how did he get past prelims. I'm proud Coffey made the statement in defense of his true Texas country roots.
