I'm not sure if auditions are still being held for next season or not yet. But if anybody knows if they are still going on and where at I would love to know. I would appreciate it.

I am glad to see others where offended by Jewels comment about seizures. My Momma had them most of her life. She died as the result of one. I now have them and have had them for 25yrs. People should think before they open their mouths.

OK not 2 be mean or anything but Jewel should not be a singer, much less a Country singer. Everyone thinks she is so awesome, but she just aint no good.
I thank she just needs 2 go back to Alasca! I mean she has been a suckish singer 4 I don't know how long,(cuz i don't listen 2 stupid music)but she has been a country singer 4 what a week now? So why is she a judge on NASHVILLE star? What's up with that? But on a lighter note Tommy Stanley is so awesome!!Someone posted a coment sayin "Tommy-please go back 2 ur ship." What the Heck? Tommy Rocks, and anyone who would say that is insane. I thank I got my piont across now, so Bi Yall! Oh yea and my apologees 2 Jewel that is just my opinion on ur singin, but i'm sure ur a very nice person.

I honestly think that people have nothing better to do with their time other than complain! If you don't like the show, turn the channel... yes, it's that easy! It is a contest and we, the people are the ones voting off the contestants. I believe that the judges have earned thier right to judge the singers, after all... that is why they are called "judges." So far, I do believe that the best singers are remaining.
And I personally do not think that Billy Ray is the best Host for the show, but my love for country music isn't gonna make me slam him for the job he has been hired to do.
So overall, I say, "Way to go Nashville Star Contestants, and good luck!"

John Rich should be excused from being a judge. He owes the contestant, Justin, an apology for the innuendos he put out there after Justin's performance. He is there for judging the young man's singing talent and nothing else. What a travesty. John, you're no Simon Cowell, so get over it and do your job.

ive been watching nashville star and this year the talent is not there..Lets suppose they all win..well the truth is, none of them will be big stars. The talent is mediocre..at best. The lady from arlington is hands down the best singer but she will probably wont win because the voting is supposedly left up to the fans.Its not how good you can sing at all in nashville..There are better singers in bars on broadway than touring these days or on the opry..Its all about popularity.John Rich definitely has an ego problem..an I know it all attitude when in truth no one knows it all.Jeffrey Steele is nashvilles best writer and hes the most knowledgable of the judges.Jewell is mediocre at best as a vocalist..how she ever made it heaven only knows..shes there to promote her cd and thats it. Nashville star?there arent any this year and thats sad. Dont look for it back next year on NBC, ,because it wont be.

First......I have been a huge Nashville Star Fan since, the First Season, and have watched it every year since, voting in every show. BUT this is the worst year of Nashville Star I have ever seen.

-The talent is not that good this year. The best as of right now is Ms. Lawson..
-The stars are very cocky and need an attitude adjustment. I feel that they should be more humble.
-The judges...GOD HELP US..bring back the ones from last year, I thought the celeb judges or guest judges were a good idea.

This is just my opinion, as everyone is entitled to their own. I just wanted to say, that I am a little disappointed is this years Nashville Star. I wish and believe it could be better. Could it possibly be because NBC as it????? I don't know. What does everyone else think???

Is this show more about promoting Jewel's new CD? Its been mentioned at least twice in 15 mins. of the show. I thought this show was about the contestants and their proformance.
If this is going to be about Jewel, I will stop watching the show now and move to something else to watch.
I don't want to see an "Country Simon", who likes to put everyone down.
Hope this will be a show I will enjoy watching without hearing about one of the judges new CD!!!

This is THE worst TECHNICALLY put together show on TV. Jewel said these singers need to grow exponentially, the same is true for the technical crew.

The last three shows did not have this problem. The set was warm and comfortable and the sound was nice. No matter how good these singer get, it will still sound like basement Karaoke unless there is a change in technical talent.

Omg how could u guys have voted Charley off the show u stupid or what... I mean come on now JEWEL is a country music star and AIN'T got her TEETH fixed yet whats that tell u about her vote...

The show was AWFUL with a capitol A! John was harsh and totally unprofessional considering he is in the same format as many of the contestants. Like he is a expert of newbie acts that have what it takes to make a country star. He obviously isn't! Comment after comment of simple downplaying their performances. Jewel was just as bad with the comments with an occasional whipping around with her arm's commenting on one contestants moves on the stage. I was embarrassed for her. Shes a pop star gone country and suddenly the expert on newbie acts that have the star quality to make it in country music!? I'm sorry Jewel your not the one.
No not much to say about Jeff Steel other than he seemed to be the better choice. The one that could actually do the show some good. To bad he has to sit at the table with 2 dislike judges. Sure Jewel and John are super talented and successful but that obviously doesn't make them the better choice for the show. Thats where I feel the giant downfall is!
Now for the show production- the format was wild and squished into a 2 hours smear of quick camera zooms and explosions that seemed to play off some huge event in the WWF! The show seemed scattered and way to fast. Super quick performances and overdone production that just did not fit or feel right! Nothing in the 2 hours the show felt great.No feel good moments with heartfelt performances? A complete lackluster night!
No wonder the contestants were full of nerves. I would be to considering the crazy production and hype that lead up to Monday night. Then having to go up in front of the 2 J's for a stab in persona! It was just all wrong in so many ways. I could go on but wont.
I'm just sorry that Country Music is being represented in this manner. It's a damn shame!
My advise is to keep it real! Drop the over production bullsh*& and let's slow down and listen for a country star. Let the contestants perform & play some original song's! And get some worthy music executives that are worthy of choosing the next Nashville Star on the judges panel!!!
Not to be to harsh on the show but geeezzzz how does is feel? Jewel & John? To suddenly be on a show that once had promise to a show that may just flop horribly? Lesson learned possibly?
My advise as a country performer.....
Do something now! You guys are empowered and responsible to make a positive change on the show now! Country Music and the fan's deserve it!

I think the judges were way off-I can't believe their choice-I'm not watching this dumb show again. Way to go Charley-I hope to buy your CD someday.

I am not getting the "WOW" factor from this years show either! Not sure what the judges were thinking about Charley...thought he was actually one of the better ones....He'll make it though...the publicity will do him good...in the auditions in Washington, DC they passed on this guy John Luskey as well....I will have to admit I became a fan at the audition and cannot believe they passed on him. Check him out...this guy is awesome!

I was so surprised when John Rich said Taylor Swift is what country is all about,
she's got personality and energy, but can't sing, my granddaughter loves her but even she says she doesn't sound good. doesn't surprise me that Jewel and John Rich think this, but was shocked that the very respected Jeffrey Steele would agree, maybe he was just being kind. Taylor is a great song writer but not singing.

Nashville Star I will NO LONGER WATCH! That cut made no sense. Was it "personal" with the judges? First they want the contestants to "draw the audience in" and then they eliminate the contestant who made the best effort and who, by the way in my opinion, was the best (or at least in the top three!). My husband and I were shocked and decided this show has no credibility. Also, there was a little too much "drama" in the final seconds for my taste. And will the judges PLEASE stop the bickering? Nashville Star finally made it to NBC and "prime time" and blew it with the first elimination. Why didn't the audience get to have a say on the first cut? I hope the contestant reads this to know that many viewers are upset and feel he received a raw deal.

John Rich lost my confidence in his judgment when on his previous show to pick a country star he pick Julio Iglesis Jr. Any of the other contestants were more 'country' than he was. After stating "He would kill for country music" John sold out for swooning girls and was not true to the premise of the show.

Watching him judging on this new show brings it all back and I think I will pass on watching it.

The judges did a lousy job of sizing up the talent last night. There were at least 2 others that were a lot worse than Charlie Jenkins & by the way I thot he was very good. (did the judges think he was to much like Garth Brooks) & what is wrong with that.

Nashville Star has Idol beat in many ways. Many but not all...namely if the judges had more personality. They lack a balance between criticism and encouragement, among other things. It is as if they don't realize they are on national television.

The contestants are really entertaining and many are very talented; too bad America didn't get to hear more from those eliminated (prematurely, I'm sure) by these judges.

Just like the performers, I'm sure they will get better with time...we hope.

Thank the Lord for Billy Ray; his kind-hearted way and enthusiasm is bridging the gap.

One more comment and no more criticism, promise:
Was there no IEM system in place or personal monitors at all?
Even Taylor Swift was flat; in fact, there were many contestants as good if not better than her!
It is evident that most have great natural talent.

Let Jewel or John get out there w/o an IEM & we'll tell them how they "rank!"

It was discouraging to see the show was cast with all young people. I auditioned with my friend, and NO THIS IS NOT SOUR GRAPES!!! My friend can SING circles around me!!!! We are both in our forties and I don't understand why age limits are NOT set for auditioning if there is no intention to "cast" a contestant representory of the broad age spectrum of auditioning hopefuls.......

Perhaps....."Geezer Idol" would be a hit!! lol

I was wondering if anybody can try out for Nashville Star, or do you already have to be a music sensation to be on this show? I was only osking because i have been looking for a way to get into the music industry and have had no luck finding out where to turn. Do you have any suggestions? I am always told thot i have a great voice and i should do something about it. Maybe with your help i can finally accomplish the dream of mine.
