Trying to take what are some really great POP songs and turn them into Country is just wrong!

Who came up with this idea!

How about turning the tide and get back to singing real country.

What happened to the section a few years ago, where the contestants actually had to sing songs that they wrote???

I think Country Artists should also be able to play an instrument. So far only GABE has played a Guitar! This should be a requirement!

Pretty Sure this show rocks this season. People need to remember that alot of the songs out there are not country anymore. They play Faith Hill on a pop radio station all the time. Good luck to all of you this season. I already know who i want to win so good luck..

What has happened to Nashville? why do they think they have to imitate "IDOL"? If you are going to be a Nashville Star, who cares if you can sing Cydi Lauper or not? Try singing "Stand By Your Man" Now that is a hard song to sing....try it. Low to High. or "I want yo out of my head and back in my bed" by Loretta Lynn.

NBC, you have really made a joke out of what was a good country talent show. Billy Ray is not a good host (he pauses way too long to make announcements - talk about a pregnant pause!). Please, please take this show back to its roots!! After tonight's bad attempt, I am not sure I will watch the rest of the season - it sure is coming off of our DVR schedule.

I agree with many of the other comments and think that this year's format is just for the birds!!

I'm so happy these 2 guys are in the bottom 2 and they're last to perform. Now I can turn off the TV and go to bed early. I don't care what happens to them - neither of them can sing.

Too bad the rest of the show is going to give me nightmares tonight.

What have the idots done to this show. This is horrible. Nashville Star used to be a great show. What is this mess. A two man circle jerk with Jeff and John. Both stroking each other about how great their arrangemnts were (NOT!) And what up with Vanity Lame...errrr Danity Kane? Thay suck at best and you put them on a country show?
Well guess country going pop is what makes most country music horrible these days. Why should this show be any different? Not only will I never watch this show again but I will tell every one I know how painfully miserable watching this show was. What a train wreck.

What happened to the Nashville Star program that I have watched and enjoyed for the past few years? This year's show is definitely not what I expected. Tonight's show was a joke. I did not enjoy it and I think you have forgotten what the name of the show is:
Nashville Star not Pop Star. This was the worse show I have ever watched that was supposed to be finding new country stars.

The first couple of seasons of Nashville Star were MUCH better... real country. This season is over-produced, full of "did he/she really say/do that?!" moments, and barely relevant to the country scene. America is not this stupid. Please stop trying to pass this junk off as country and focus on the REAL spirit of country.

John Rich is inappropriate and doesn't belong on the air. He does not provide any useful feedback and I just feel unfomfortable with the comments he makes about the women. It's just creepy.

Billy Ray... can't... read... cue.. cards... His jokes aren't funny. I feel sorry for him every time he appears on the screen.

Thank goodness for Jewel's profoundness - she gives really helpful comments, she tells it like it is, and yet she's still inspirational to the contestants. Jeffrey Steele is also a huge asset to the show. His arrangements tonight made the show watchable for me.

What is this crappy show with background dancers and "country" versions of pop songs we could care less about? What happened to country music? Don’t we have enough fabulous country songs for contestants to sing? This show has always been better than American Idol – what happened? My Mom and Aunt just called complaining their favorite show isn’t worth watching anymore. You’ve just lost three long-time fans of the show.

the cupcakes can not sing. and tell me why....WHY...do we bring anything p-diddy put together on a COUNTRY show. This has turned into a joke and it actually hurts my ears and eyes to watch this train wreck. i love john rich, but man....in the words of deirks bentley...."what were you thinking?!?!".

I have been disappointed in this show. The title is Nashville Star. I thought Nashville was country music related. Where's the country? Most of these should be sent to America's Got Talent so they can perform any type of music.

Listen , i thought this weeks show, last weeks show both sucked, wow you picked the bottom of the barrel when you chose these judges, making these guy's and gals do this was like watching 2 drunken monkeys fight over a football. the greatest country singers ever spent thier time on stage singing not trying to dance around like idiots, now country hasn't changed just the jokers who sing it now have,. please bring real country back and stop making a joke out of country music just to get your butts on tv.

John Rich is by far a country artist. I have heard heavy metal bands that have better voices and sound more country than Big and Rich.

This show has turned to crap......thanks alot NBC. What have you done to this great country talent show. I was thought it was so much better then american idol, now this year the talent sucks. Poor excuse for a great show. I hate this season!

You canNOT tell me that these are the BEST of all those who auditioned!! I've heard better at local karaoke bars...ANYWHERE! I am a Country fan, but this show has gone to the dogs. It's unfortunate that it comes right after the greatest American Idol series ever, because Billy Ray and the contestants pale by comparison and wouldn't even make it into a high school talent show. Tsk...tsk...tsk...(shaking head in utter disbelief)

Does ANYONE out there think that true blue country fans (who are the target audience!!) will listen to that crap that they call pop music on a country show?...

I didn't think so.

I for one am a backwoods redneck who listens to nothing but country and can't stand to listen to the crap on the show tonight, even if they try to make it country.
